About Us
Principal Officers Elaine Rosales and David Kikoler
American Education Solutions, Inc. (AES) was founded in 1996 by principal officers Elaine Rosales and David Kikoler, educators with more than twenty years of experience as teachers, grant developers and administrators.
David was a teacher in the first court-ordered magnet school in New York City and went on to become a grants administrator in New York City School District 21. Elaine taught in Ghana as a Peace Corps volunteer, as well as in California. She was Director of Research and Evaluation for New York City School District 18. After founding their own successful companies writing grants and performing evaluations in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and North Carolina, they started AES to offer grant development and evaluation services by bringing together the expertise of life-long educators with the analytical and statistical expertise of researchers and statisticians.
While a grants administrator in New York City, David learned the value of working closely with university based statisticians and researchers for grant and program development and evaluation design. Therefore, one of the first things Elaine and David did when they formed AES was to create relationships with universities and researchers who shared the vision of working closely with practitioners on grants and evaluations.
University Collaborations
University collaborators and partners have included Dr. Robert Bonn of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City; Dr. David Silver who worked at the Yale Child Study Center, UC ACCORD and the National Center for Research on Evaluation Standards and Student Testing (CRESST) at UCLA; the Education Alliance at Brown University; and AES’s current university partner CRESST at UCLA.
Highly Experienced Site Visitors
A component of AES’s success is its team of site visitors all of whom have had extensive experience that has prepared them for their AES work. They have been district level school choice/magnet administrators, as well as directors of magnet schools, school administrators in magnet schools, and teachers in magnet schools.
